What is Chromebook ?
A Chromebook is a laptop which operated by a cloud-based Operating System called ChromeOS. It was designed to help you to get things faster and easier. The looks similar to a laptop but the performance and features differ from a normal windows laptop or macbook. Chromebook's are first launched in June 2011 with a basic web apps support and native functionalities and the it has been developed and nowadays chromebooks are capable to run android and linux apps as well.
What is a ChromeOS ?
A Chrome OS is an operating system which was developed from a open source project called Chromium OS and it uses Chrome Browser as its principal user interface Unlike a normal operating system Chrome OS uses a cloud based architecture integrated with google to store user data and application data. It has an integrated media player and file manager and support for web apps and chrome apps. Android support was came to chrome os version 69 along with a linux terminal and applications with the help of a lightweight kernal that runs apps(containers) on a virtual machine. Chrome OS runs only on a specific hardware, Due to this lack of hardware capability many users aren't able to taste the feel of a chrome os if they need to use chrome OS they probably need a chromebook for that.
Recently google announces its development version of Chrome os flex - A distribution of Chrome OS that can be installed in a normal PC or Laptop to replace its existing operating system like Windows, linux or MAC.
How to convert a laptop into a Chromebook
Requirements
- USB drive atleast 8GB of storage
- A running computer (Windows or MAC)
- Chrome Browser (latest version)
- Patience....
