Windows 11

Windows 11 is a operating system which was launched by Microsoft in 2021. it has a revamped user interface along with lot more features, presenting colorful icons and with a newly redesigned file explorer and windows style has also some minor changes in the UI. a new redesigned Microsoft store to download native apps and it also comes with a new subsystem for android to run android apps with in the windows environment. As part of the minimum system requirements, Windows 11 only runs on devices with a Trusted Platform Module 2.0 security coprocessor for the protection from hardware and firmware attacks to the computer. And it require Secure boot and UEFI enabled in the BIOS for installation and upgradation process These are the major requirements for the installation or upgrading your PC to latest Windows 11. Microsoft releases a list of supported processors in Intel and AMD for windows 11. Processors which are not in the list are officially unsupported to run Windows 11. So we having an challenge in upgrading or installing Windows 11 in unsupported Hardware's.

Upgrading to Windows 11 is not a complicated process, there are lot more methods to upgrade a unsupported hardware to windows 11. This method is tested successfully and we have upgraded a Lenovo E41-15 model laptop it was given by Tamilnadu Government for students educational purpose, Since, it has UEFI and Secure boot but lack of a TPM chip it also considered as unsupported hardware. So it is officially unsupported to run windows 11.

Steps to Upgrade Windows 11

  • Download official ISO image from Microsoft Site.
  • Scroll Down to Download section

  • Select Windows 11 Multi Edition ISO and click download.
  • Select the product language and click download.

  • Now click on 64 bit Download to download the ISO image file.
  • After downloading the ISO file extract it to a Local Drive or folder.
  • After extraction open the extracted folder you'll find a folder named "Sources"
  • Open the Sources folder and search for file named "appraiserres.dll" and delete the file.
  • Now run the "setup.exe"
  • Now click on change how setup downloads updates
  • Select Not Right now and click next.
  • Accept the license terms and click next
  • Click on Install and wait for the entire process to complete.


Now, we have successfully upgraded Unsupported Hardware to windows 11
